MD and founder of Jomas Associates Roni Savage has been announced as an ambassador for the charitable organisation; Start Her Enterprise (SHE).
SHE is a new charity launching this July, it’s an organisation on a mission to make a difference to women’s lives in some of the poorest parts of the world. SHE is focused on helping women become financially independent by supporting female entrepreneurs, equipping them with business skills and providing the start-up capital that will enable them to build an independent income. The charity is part of Y Care International and the global YMCA movement, both global organisations that create positive and lasting change.
Roni Savage established the multi award-winning Jomas Associates in 2009, a successful geotechnical environmental and engineering business operating across the UK in the construction sector, a field significantly under-represented by women. Roni’s work leading such a successful company has also been recognised through many personal awards including the Construction News Inspire Me Award in 2019, recognising individuals that inspire women working in construction.
“It is such an honour to take on the role of ambassador for SHE alongside such an incredible panel of women” explained Roni. “Every woman encounters barriers in life, yet these barriers can be even greater in parts of the world where gender inequality is particularly pronounced. SHE is an incredible organisation, helping women harness their determination and empower them to create a new life for themselves and for their families. The impact of this positive change will continue to be felt for generations.
I feel blessed in my career to have had role models, guidance and support that enabled me to grab any opportunities available with both hands and succeed. SHE is an organisation that puts these structures in place where they don’t exist, enabling women to overcome significant barriers and thrive rather than just survive. I look forward to working with SHE, supporting their work to create life-changing opportunities.”
Roni will be speaking at the SHE launch event on Thursday 23rd July. The event will bring together a panel of leading female British entrepreneurs to share their career stories, including the peaks and pitfalls that have been part of their journey to success.
